About FALLING UNDER YOU:

Norma Anders has always prided herself on her intelligence and determination. She climbed out of poverty, put herself through school and is now a chief financial advisor at Pierce Industries. She’s certainly a woman who won’t be topped. Not in business anyway.

But she’s pretty sure she’d like to be topped in the bedroom.

Unfortunately most men see independence and ambition in a woman and they run. Even her dominant boss, Hudson Pierce has turned down her advances, leaving her to fear that she will never find the lover she’s longing for.

Then the most unlikely candidate steps up. Boyd, her much-too-young and oh-so-hot assistant surprises her one night with bold suggestions and an authoritative demeanor he’s never shown her in the office.

It’s a bad idea…such a deliciously bad idea…but when Boyd takes the reins and leads her to sensual bliss she’s never known, the headstrong Norma can’t help but fall under his command.

EXCERPT

“Why is it,” he asked, reaching for the stamp, “do you think, that you mixed up your days in the first place?”

I shrugged, not sure where he was going with the question. “I don’t know. Got absorbed in work, I guess. Sometimes it’s hard to remember there’s a world outside of that.” I realized why he’d asked as I spoke my answer. “Oh.”

“But there’s a lot of world outside your office.” He pressed the stamp against my inner thigh, leaving a red rectangular mark on my skin. He moved it up higher and stamped me again. And again. Then several times on the inside of my other thigh.

I didn’t move to look at what the stamp said. It was too dark to see easily, and, anyway, I was transfixed by him—his mouth as he spoke, his hands as they moved with his task.

“There’s a lot of world I’d like to show you outside that room, Norma.” He set the stamp down so he could unbutton my blouse. Then he placed several more marks along my belly and along the top of my breasts.

Still, I kept my eyes on him.

He set the stamp down and reached for the roll of tape. “Give me your hands, please.”

I held them out, not surprised when he bound my wrists together with several layers of tape, the sticky part facing away from my skin. Next he moved to my legs, wrapping my ankle to the handle on a cupboard below me, then my other ankle to another handle so my legs were spread wide.

When he was finished, I pulled against them, testing their strength, and found all of them secure.

“Too tight?”

I shook my head.

“Good.” He nodded at me, his expression clouded with want. “All day long you sit at that desk, this is how I see you.”

“Half-naked?”

MY REVIEW

I adored Laurelin Paige’s Fixed series.  I was so happy to finally hear Norma’s story.  All through the Fixed series, we were given little nuggets of information but never the whole story of how she ended up with her assistant Boyd.
Norma is almost totally focused on her career.  She wanted to succeed and take care of her family but the one thing missing was a man to love and share her life with.  She makes a move on Hudson which we all know epically fails and she is hurt by the rejection.  Boyd knows she has been rejected and he basically steps up to the plate in a extremely alpha move and tells her he wants her.  He always has and this is total contradiction to the Boyd that Norma sees in the office.

Watching these two figure out how to reverse their roles outside of the office was a hoot.  Boyd surprised me over and over again.  The best part was seeing Norma finally get her HEA.  This is a quick read and a nice addition to these characters and their world.

Laurelin Paige - headshotAbout Laurelin Paige:

USA Today and New York Times Bestselling Author Laurelin Paige is a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there’s kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn’t seem to complain, however. When she isn’t reading or writing sexy stories, she’s probably singing, watching Game of Thrones or The Walking Dead, or dreaming of Adam Levine. She’s also a proud member of Mensa International though she doesn’t do anything with the organization except use it as material for her bio. She is represented by Rebecca Friedman.

About CHARGED:

From the New York Times bestselling author of the Marked Men books comes the second installment in the Saints of Denver series featuring a bad girl and a by the book attorney who could be her salvation…or her ruin.

Avett Walker and Quaid Jackson’s worlds have no reason to collide. Ever. Quaid is a high powered criminal attorney as slick as he is handsome. Avett is a pink-haired troublemaker with a bad attitude and a history of picking the wrong men.

When Avett lands in a sea of hot water because of one terrible mistake, the only person who can get her out of it is the insanely sexy lawyer. The last thing on earth she wants to do is rely on the no-nonsense attorney who thinks of her as nothing more than a nuisance. He literally has her fate in his hands. Yet there is something about him that makes her want to convince him to loosen his tie and have a little fun…with her.

Quaid never takes on clients like the impulsive young woman with a Technicolor dye job. She could stand to learn a hard lesson or two, but something about her guileless hazel eyes intrigues him. Still, he’s determined to keep their relationship strictly business. But doing so is becoming more impossible with each day he spends with her.

As they work side-by-side, they’ll have to figure out a way to get along and keep their hands off each other—because the chemistry between them is beyond charged.

EXCERPT

Quaid

I narrowed my eyes at her, shifted my weight from foot to foot as her proximity and the charge of her pushing and me pulling thickened both my blood and my cock. I was an attorney for a reason. I never met an argument I didn’t like or that I didn’t feel compelled to win. The way Avett always seemed to challenge me was as much of a turn-on as her curvy little body was.

“Where is your father?” I lifted my eyes from her penetrating gaze in search of the big biker. I didn’t need to try and explain a black eye or a broken arm to Orsen on top of why I suddenly had no interest in searching out a pretty piece of ass to spend time with.

“He’s waiting at the truck. I told him I had some questions I needed to ask you about what happens next.”

“Do you?”

“Do I what?” She was getting increasingly annoyed and I wanted to groan at the way it made her cheeks flush and her breathing hitch. I bet she looked the same way when she was about to come.

Shit. That was not the direction I needed my thoughts to go, but now that they were there I didn’t have a chance in hell of wrangling them back into the safe zone.

“Do you have questions about what happens next?” My voice didn’t sound like my own and I knew there was no hiding the wayward direction of my thoughts as they played out in my gaze as I watched her carefully.

Slowly, her head shook back and forth, dislodging the bun at the back of her head. Pink strands of hair floated around her face, curling over her shoulders, and my fingertips itched to reach out and push it off her face.

“I know what happens next, Quaid…do you?” Her tone had dropped to a husky whisper that hit me right in the dick. My entire body tensed up and I almost, very nearly, leaned down and met her as she lifted up on her tiptoes towards me. I wanted to kiss her. I wanted her to kiss me. But over the top of her head, as she moved towards me, I caught sight of a familiar face. The heady, little bubble of seduction and intoxicating risk that Avett had created around me popped, dropping me hard, back into reality.

I turned my head as her lips grazed my cheek, and even though it was as innocent as any kiss had ever been, it felt more erotic, more forbidden, and more illicit than any of the actual sex I had ever had. This little slip of a woman could demolish me, waste me, annihilate me, and if I allowed her to do it, I knew it would feel better than anything had in a very long time.

MY REVIEW

I was hesitant to read this book because Avett rubbed me the wrong way in some of Jay’s other books.  She is young, confused, angry and generally troubled.  But of course, Jay doesn’t shy away from her complicated, flawed characters.  She not only embraces Avett but throws Quaid into the mix.  Quaid looks perfect on the outside but is just as flawed as Avett but his flaws aren’t as noticeable to the outside world.  When their lives collide, there are definitely fireworks.  It isn’t just the chemistry between them but the journey of self discovery they both take together.  They each discover little pieces of themselves by knowing the other.  Their relationship shows them their is more to each one of them then what the outside world sees.

The story begins as Avett hits rock bottom.  She is in jail and isn’t shying away from the fact she brought this on herself.  When Quaid, who has been hired as her attorney, shows up, she is stunned.  She can’t believe anyone would want to help her out of this mess and assumes it is her father.  When Quaid tells her it wasn’t her dad, she realizes she may have finally crossed the line with the one person who has always loved her.

Quaid isn’t ready for the pink haired Avett.  He quickly realizes there is more to her than meets the eye.  She begs him not to call her father for bail and threatens to fire him.  He also realizes she wasn’t part of the crime she is being charged with and he wants to get her a second chance.

Avett also teaches Quaid that it is ok to embrace who you are and you don’t have to fit into a mold.  He hasn’t realized that he has been living a half life.  These two need each other and it is fantastic to see them help each other become better people.

The Saints of Denver series has not disappointed.  It is so different from the Marked Men series and yet we still get little glimpses of our boys.  Avett and Quaid are a story you don’t want to miss.  Avett is a heroine we don’t see a great deal in romance.  She is easy to dislike until you peel away the layers and you realize she just needs a little love and guidance.  Quaid looks like the perfect hero suit and all but when you dig deeper, he is hiding his true self.  When these two find each other, they find themselves….flawed and beautifully perfect for each other.

And don’t miss the first titles in The Saints of Denver Series!

Book Review: Dirty Little Rendezvous by Emma Hart

dirtylittlerendezvous nowavail banner

Sometimes the past becomes the present… And he’s hot, cocky, and British.

Leila Burke expected a lot of things when she joined her brothers on tour in Europe. He wasn’t one of them.

Jase Masters had no idea what to expect when he agreed to support Dirty B. on tour. She definitely wasn’t it.

It’s been eighteen months.

He remembers that night a little too well.

She insists she has no idea who he is.

He’s rugged and determined.

She’s wild and free.

Together, they’re a tornado.

Keeping it from touching down is the least of their worries.

EXCERPT

“Hey, Jase?” I look up and down the hall through my eyelashes.

“Yeah?”

My tongue runs over my bottom lip. “You could come in. If you wanted.”

He exhales loudly, running his hand through his hair. “Leila… You’ve been drinking. Whether you say you’re drunk or not, this is your tequila talking.”

“What if it isn’t?”

“How do I know you’re not just saying it?”

“Never mind.” My stomach sinks. “I can take a hint.”

“A hint? I’m a man, love. I don’t give or take hints.” He walks toward me. “But I also respect you and I’m not going to go into your room and fuck you because numerous shots of tequila are telling you it’s a good idea.”

“Don’t worry.” My cheeks burn with humiliation. I’m blaming this on the tequila. He’s so insistent it is, so fuck you, tequila. Fuck you.

“Leila.” He grabs my arm before I can disappear fully inside.

I slowly turn my face back to him. The bright hall lights collide with the darkness of my room, casting shadows across the angular planes of his face. His eyes blaze at me, a bright yet stormy green that shows his inner battle.

“Don’t think I’m not coming in with you because I don’t want to fuck you.” He takes a deep breath and lets it out quietly.

I swallow.

“I want to fuck you again. I want to follow you into this room and fuck you so hard everyone on this floor will know what we’re doing.”

“So do it,” I whisper. “I’m not drunk, Jase. I know exactly what I’m asking.”

“You’re supposed to be avoiding me.” He leans in so his mouth hovers just above mine. “Remember?”

“It didn’t work out.” My mouth gets dry as his breath fans across my lips.

“So, pursuing me is your new plan?”

“Well.” I pause to swallow again, although there’s nothing but the hesitant lump in my throat that won’t go down. “I figure it’s the more enjoyable option.”

His lips twitch up on one side, and he laughs quietly. “Leila, love…”

I grab the front of his shirt, gripping it tight, and pull him down to me at the same time that I push up onto my toes. Our lips collide somewhere between us, and he freezes. His fingers twitch around my arm, but he lets go.

I get it.

I step back from him, my heart thudding and pushing the previous twinge of humiliation around my body until it latches on to every cell and swamps me. My cheeks burn, and I can’t look up at him, so I move back into my room, throwing my book in the direction of the bed.

He grabs me.

Shoves me inside.

Pushes me back against the door so it slams shut.

And kisses me.

Desire blurs my embarrassment as Jase’s mouth descends onto mine and he kisses me as though he’s starving. I wind my hands into his hair as he runs one of his up my thigh. His fingers ease under my dress, coming dangerously close to the top of my leg, and I gasp as he lifts it and hooks it over his hip.

Fuck me, he’s hard.

His cock presses between my legs, against my throbbing clit, and the pressure from his jeans sends a bolt of uncontrollable desire firing through my bloodstream.

He groans, swiping his tongue across the seam of my mouth, and I open for him, sending my tongue to meet his. They battle when he kisses me deeply and grips my ass harder, lifting me up the door a little. My hips buck against him, and he nips my bottom lip when I whimper.

Then he brings one hand between my legs and runs his thumb over the soft cotton of my panties.

Right over my clit.

Right along my pussy.

Now, my gasp is loud, and I break the kiss to control my breathing. Jase smiles against my jaw as he kisses it. His mouth leaves trails of hot kisses along it and my neck, his tongue swirling on my pulse point, his teeth grazing down my skin to my shoulder.

And, the whole time, his fingers are working their way beneath my underwear.

The moment his rough thumb brushes my clit, his lips find mine again, and he swallows my moan.

Teaser1My Review

What to say…what to say…I adore Emma Hart….I adore the Burke brothers and Dirty B and I adore Leila Burke.  I have been patiently waiting for her story since we met her in Book 1.  Which by the way, if you haven’t read this series, do so immediately.  I mean who can say no to a Souther rock band made up of seriously smokin’ hot brothers who are a tad bit on the alpha side.  But enough about the guys we all love and on to their little sister Leila.

Leila is everything I love in a heroine.  She is strong, sassy, independent and not afraid to say what she thinks.  I loved her in the early days of Dirty B and I couldn’t wait to see exactly who would conquer her heart.  I knew it would be a hell of a ride and Emma never disappoints….never.

Jase Masters is just yum.  He is an upcoming rockstar, hot as can be and the cherry on the top of the cupcake: he is British.  Yep, you know you want a guy to talk to you and say things like arse, bollocks, bloody, and call you “love” over and over again.  These two met over a year ago while Leila was traveling through Europe and it was explosive. Fate has brought them together again.

Watching these two fall for each other was a true pleasure.  The chemistry was off the charts.  The banter between the two and between Leila and her brothers and friends was hilarious.  I turned the pages quicker and quicker because I just wanted to see my girl Leila happy.

When I reached the end, I was happy but also sad.  I can’t believe it is the end for the Burke family.  Their stories made for great entertainment and I just didn’t want to turn the last page and close the book.  Emma Hart, thanks for Dirty B.  Thanks for Leila and Jase.  You never fail to suck me in and keep me wanting more.  Go pick up this entire series, read them in order, relish and enjoy.  Leila and Jase make a hell of a nightcap for this series!  Hooray for Bucket List Love!

Once, the only thing that mattered to me was football—training, playing, and earning my place on the best team at every level. I had it all, and I threw it away with a semester of drugs, alcohol, and pissing off anyone who tried to stop me. Now I’m suspended from the team, on house arrest, and forced to spend six months at home to get my shit together. The cherry on top of my fuckup sundae? Sleeping in the room next to mine is my best friend’s girl, Mia Mendez—the only woman I’ve ever loved and a reminder of everything I regret.
I’m not sure if having Mia so close will be heaven or hell. She’s off-limits—and not just because she’s working for my dad. Her heart belongs to someone else. But since the accident that killed her brother and changed everything, she walks around like a zombie, shutting out her friends and ignoring her dreams. We’re both broken, numb, and stuck in limbo.

Until I break my own rules and touch her.

Until she saves me from my nightmares by climbing into my bed.

Until the only thing I want more than having Mia for myself is to protect her from the truth.

I can’t rewrite the past, but I refuse to leave her heart in the hands of fate. For this girl, I’d climb into the sky and rearrange the stars.

Mia

I wake to a thump and sit up in bed. It’s three in the morning and my room is dark, but there’s more thumping. Someone’s kicking the wall between my room and Arrow’s.

My heart clenches as I picture him on the other side having wild sex with some girl. Maybe some old fuck buddy came over after I went to bed. Hell, for all I know it’s Gwen visiting her stepson’s bed.

I dismiss the idea as quickly as it comes. Arrow can’t tolerate Gwen, and he may have changed, but he’s never been one to fuck girls he can’t tolerate.

There’s another thump, then I hear Arrow’s voice. “No. Don’t.” Rough, choked words. And more thrashing. “Why?”

I throw off the covers and run to his room, opening the door without a thought.

I don’t know what I expected to find. Arrow is sleeping alone, tangled in his covers.

Frozen, I stare at him. Moonlight spills in through the open curtains and casts shadows across his face. Sweat glistens on his forehead, and his face twists in a grimace.

I step closer. I could touch him, but I shouldn’t. “Arrow?”

He kicks. His arm flies out and hits the wall.

“Arrow,” I repeat, louder this time.

He grabs my hand at the wrist and flies upright in bed as his eyes pop open. He’s breathing hard, and anguish is all over his face. For a minute, I feel like I can see inside him—all the terrified, vulnerable parts he hides from the world. I can see inside him and I know exactly what I’m looking at, because my dreams make me feel the same way.

“What are you doing here?” he asks in a low whisper. The anger from earlier is gone from his voice.

“You were having a nightmare.”

His eyes rake over me—greedy, hungry, desperate. “What? No red lace nightie? Or do you save that for my dad? Like mother, like daughter?”

I gasp before I can stop myself. Why doesn’t he just punch me? His fist to my face would hurt less than those words.

I yank my hand away, spin on my heel, and walk toward the hall. As I reach for the knob, he’s behind me. He slams his palm against the door, and it closes with a violent thunk. “I’m sorry,” he whispers behind me, his breath on my neck. “I’m sorry I said that.”

I keep my gaze on his hand. Arrow has the best hands. Big, strong, beautiful. And the first time they touched me . . .

I squeeze my eyes shut at the unwelcome memory, and shrug. “I need this job,” I say slowly. “Your stepmother has made it clear that she’ll fire me if we can’t get along, and we both know your dad will fire me if you ask him to. But please don’t. Please don’t screw it up for me.”

“Mia,” he says softly, and I feel him step closer, the heat of his body against my back. The rough pads of his fingertips brush the hair from my neck, then his breath, hot and sweet, tickles against that tender skin.

I’m frozen, divided between the wish for his kiss and the fear of it. “I’m sorry,” I whisper. Hot tears roll down my cheeks, and I don’t know what I’m apologizing for. For taking this job? For going with Brogan that night when Arrow asked me not to? For entering his life to begin with?

Yes. All of that. More. “I’m so sorry.”

He drops one hand from the door and the other from my neck. My body grows cool as he steps away.

“Stop apologizing,” he says.

I turn the knob and head to my room. I don’t look back.

My Review

Arrow Woodson, a college football star, is under house arrest after a string of bad choices leads to house arrest.  He arrives home to find his stepmother has hired Mia to nanny for his little sister.  The problem with that is Mia was his best friend’s girl who he has been in love with since they met.

Mia Mendez has been a walking zombie since the accident that claimed the life of her brother and destroyed her boyfriend. She isn’t doing the best job at holding it together but she is trying so hard.  She needs this job and she needs Arrow not to ruin it for her.

The accident haunts both of these characters for different reasons and the slow and suspenseful unfolding of events makes for a page turner.  This story doesn’t have a great deal of happy moments and you wait for more information to try to understand what happened.  It is clear these two have deep feelings for each other but are bogged down in the past and it is destroying both of them.

The alternating POVs between Arrow and Mia keep you on your toes and you also jump from past to present so you have to read carefully.  I thought I knew what was going on but I was surprised in the end.

This was a good start to a new series and honestly, I can’t wait for some of the side characters (like Chris) to take center stage. I went into this book with no idea of what might happen and I was pleasantly surprised.  I enjoy suspense and this book didn’t disappoint.
