Book Review: Sin by Emma Hart

Damien fox lived up to his name. Cunning, sly, and dangerous, fifty percent of Vegas’ strip clubs were his.

Whatever he wanted, money, attention, women, he got.

And now he wanted to buy my bar, no matter the cost.

I wanted him to go to hell on a first-class ticket.

He played a dirty game, and I followed his rules. I let him think he would win.

Despite our differences, it was clear to see that we were no more than two broken hearts colliding in the darkness.

Closed off, sexy, and holding a pain that would crush a lesser man, he was the ultimate sin.

One I couldn’t deny myself, even though I knew better than to trust a fox…

(SIN is book one of the Vegas Nights series. Each book in this series is a standalone novel.)

Sin was everything you expect from Emma Hart: flaming hot chemistry, witty banter and dialogue and characters that you spend page after page reading about and can’t get enough of. Damien and Dahlia couldn’t be more opposite in their personalities. Dahlia is smart, witty, open to love and emotionally ready for what could be a fully committed relationship. She was lucky to have parents who adored each other and it resonates with her to this day. Damien had the opposite. He was part of and witnessed the destruction of his family and the supposed love his parents had for each other destroy everything he holds dear. He is calculated, cold and closed off…until he meets Dahlia.

The story is well paced, the plot line doesn’t lag and I adored not only the main characters but the secondary as well. Fergus and Abbie had me in stitches. Family dynamics play a huge part in this story for both Damien and Dahlia. Honestly, I was expecting more from Damien’s story with his father and he being so adamant to purchase her bar. I was waiting for a massive family secret to drop and threaten their relationship but it didn’t. The ending was a bit anti-climatic because there wasn’t a huge conflict. But I still enjoyed reading this story and I can’t wait to see what Hart has in stock for Damien’s sister Perrie.
