It was supposed to be fun.
A mutual use of each other’s bodies.
To be a ruse to the world around us.
I wanted to be free from my ex, and he wanted to escape his.
One drunken night turned a joke into a life-changing moment.
He warned me not to fall for him, and I should’ve listened.
He intoxicated me.
He made me crave him.
He ruined me.
In the end, I’ll never be the same.
Drunk on You is the 4th release in the Hope Town series where we get to enjoy the kiddos of our favorite Corps Security guys. Drunk on You centers on Shane and Nikki who are the best friends of Nate and Emberlyn from When I’m With You. Shane is co-owner of the Dirty with Nate and an ex-stripper (fantastic dancer) and Nikki is a second grade teacher in an exclusive private school.
These two have been secretly crushing on each other for awhile but while they were in other relationships therefore these two couldn’t try each other out. Unfortunately, both of their relationships were beyond toxic and detrimental to both of them mentally. Nikki decides one night at Dirty while she full of tasty drinks and enjoying Shane’s show to make Shane perfectly aware of how attracted she is to him. Funny enough they turn it into a friends with benefits relationship to get rid of their exes.
But as we all know, “fake” relationships always morph into more and Nikki falls for Shane but knows he has major trust issues and doesn’t want another relationship. He believes no woman can handle his job and that isn’t going to change. I loved that Nikki refused to back down and fought for what she wanted. Shane is a total alpha and really knows how to care for a woman even if he said he dint’ want more. This was a solid addition to the New Hope series and I can’t wait for the next installment.
