I’d dated his brother.
He didn’t remember and I wish I could forget.
I may have sworn off the Wright family a long time ago. But when I returned home, Jensen Wright crashed into my life with the confidence of a billionaire CEO and the sex appeal of a god. Even I couldn’t resist our charged chemistry, or the way he fit into my life like a missing puzzle piece.
Too bad he’d forgotten the one thing that could destroy us.
Because Jensen Wright doesn’t share. Not with anyone. And if his brother finds out, this could all go down in flames.
When it all was said and done, was he the Wright brother?
This is my first contemporary romance by K.A. Linde. I love her fantasy series and wanted to dive into more of her work. The Wright Brother starts off with Emery fleeing her cheating boyfriend and her PhD program to her Texan hometown of Lubbock. She isn’t upset about coming home because she wants to spend some time with her family and she really wasn’t loving her program/career choices. She is ready for a change but she doesn’t know what it will entail or where it will take her.
Her best friend Heidi works for Wright Construction (her ex-boyfriend’s family company) and she ends up going to a Wright family wedding where she bumps into her ex, his psycho wife, and his hot brother Jensen Wright. For Emery, it is bad enough that she is bumping into an ex but it gets worse when Jensen can’t stop looking at her. It becomes clear pretty quickly that he has no idea who Emery is and she doesn’t correct him. Things between these two heat up quickly and before you know it, they are going out.
I didn’t love Jensen at first. He seemed to wishy washy and couldn’t make a decision to save his life. I figured there was more to it then what it seems and it takes a bit in the book to get the complete story. I adored Emery and loved that she wasn’t afraid to go after what she wants and put herself out there even if it meant possibly getting hurt. Sometimes she came off a little weak but she just went through the wringer with not only an ex but her life choices.
The romance was solid and their chemistry was hot. The plot was a bit predictable but still enjoyable. This was an easy read and if I am honest, I really love all the secondary characters. I assume we will get to read a story on each of the Wright siblings. They were a hoot and there is so much I want to know.
