About HARD JUSTICE:

Playing it safe has never felt so dangerous…

Justice Wallington knows how to harness his strength and intimidating size—skills he put to good use first in the MMA cage, and now as a bodyguard at the Body Armor agency. But no opponent has ever left him feeling as off balance as his new client, heiress Fallon Wade. Far from a spoiled princess, she’s sweet and intriguingly innocent. It’s a risk-free assignment, until he’s required to fake a relationship with her in order to blend in.

Sheltered from the world after a family tragedy, Fallon longs to experience life—going to bars, dancing, talking to strangers. Not easy with a huge, lethal-looking bodyguard shadowing her every move. Justice seems like her polar opposite, but pretending to be a couple stirs undeniable heat. And when danger strikes again, it’s not just her safety in jeopardy, but a passion that’s real, raw and absolutely against the rules…

EXCERPT

“If anything happens to her, we will hold you and the agency personally responsible.”

“Nothing will.”

Her father scowled. “Ms. Silver swears you’re capable.”

“That I am.” Though Justice spoke to her father, he didn’t look away from Fallon, and she shivered at the deepness of the voice that stroked over her skin like a warm caress.

“She also said you were a professional fighter,” her father continued.

“Was once,” Justice agreed. “I fought with the SBC, but I don’t compete anymore.”

“SBC?” her father asked.

“Supreme Battle Challenge. Best known fight organization there is.”

Ah, a fighter. Fallon gave him another quick glance. She supposed that explained the damaged ear, crook in his nose and the outrageous hairstyle. “Not a boxer,” she guessed.

“Mixed martial arts, so kicking, grappling, submissions, but yeah, I’m a pretty good boxer, too.” He jokingly threw a few shadow punches, then, with a glance at her dad, quickly sobered. “Not to brag or anything.”

With a critical eye, her father said, “Admittedly, you’re not what I expected.”

“You were looking for Rocky Balboa? The one in the later movies, not the first? He did get slick in the last few, huh? That’s not me, though. Never will be.”

Such an outpouring left her father stymied for a moment. “Well, my wife and Ms. Silver did suggest that you’d be able to blend in.”

Fallon remained on the last step—and still Justice towered over her. She smiled up at him. “That was my stipulation. That you be able to blend, I mean. I didn’t want a bodyguard to be super conspicuous. But seeing you now, I can’t imagine you blending in too easily.”

He crooked a brow. “Why not?”

“You’re rather large to blend.”

“Depends on where we go, right?” He took her elbow and very unnecessarily helped her down the last step. “Bar, club, steakhouse—no one will pay much attention to me. In this house?” He looked around as if a little put off by the grandeur. “Or a fancy party?” He rasped a big hand over his beard stubble. “I can shave, spiff up a little and force myself into a suit, but that still might not do the trick.”

MY REVIEW

I loved this book. I was so intrigued by Justice in the first book in this series.  I couldn’t wait to see how his story unfolded. Justice is a former MMA fighter who has now joined his buddy Leese at Body Armor where he serves as a bodyguard.  Justice is still pretty new to the business and has only just started his career.  When he receives his newest client, a 24-year-old woman whose parents insist she needs protection every time she leaves the house, it wonder why but knows it is his job to just protect.

Fallon Wade has been sheltered her whole life but her parents really ramped it up after a tragedy in their family over five years ago.  She puts up with it because she feels responsible for their pain.  However, she has had enough and wants to experience life a little and convinces her parents to let her out.  In walks Justice and Fallon is shocked.  He doesn’t look like her normal bodyguards.  She doesn’t understand how Justice can blend in anywhere, as he’s 6’5″, with crazy hair and insanely hot.

Justice is immediately drawn to Fallon because she is so kind and beautiful.  She isn’t pretentious at all and she has such joy from the small things that normal people overlook.  Fallon is extremely private and Justice wants to know more especially once he meets her ex-boyfriend who clearly has caused some of Fallon’s issues.

There is a suspense plot running in the background of their story and you are trying to guess who is responsible through the whole book.  The best part of the suspense plot is all of our old favorites show up.  It is great to catch up with Cannon, Armie, Denver,  and Stack.  It also looks like Miles will be joining the agency as well.  Not to mention that Sahara Silver, the owner of the agency, needs a hero as well.  I really enjoyed the second installment of this series and look forward to more from the Body Armor agency.

Book Release and Review: Sugar Free by Sawyer Bennett

sugarfreetourbannerSugar Free (Sugar Bowl, Book #3) Sawyer Bennett Release Date: October 11, 2016

Synopsis: Sela and Beck’s deliciously sinful tale of sex, lies, and vengeance reaches its explosive conclusion in the final chapter of Sawyer Bennett’s Sugar Bowl trilogy, which began with the novels Sugar Daddy and Sugar Rush. For years Sela Halstead dreamed of revenge, but the quest for payback has been anything but sweet. Now, once again, she finds herself at the mercy of Jonathon Townsend, his hands crushing the very breath from her body. And even though she escapes with her life, Sela fears she may never recover. In desperate need of shelter and comfort, she runs to the one man she can trust. Beckett North has stood by Sela since the beginning. But can he handle the brutal truth? Beck will do anything to protect what is his—and make no mistake, Sela belongs to him, heart and soul. The passion between them runs hot, even as their world begins to unravel. With the legacy of his ruthless business partner hanging in the balance, Beck stands to lose everything: his fortune, his family, his freedom. But each touch of Sela’s mouth on his skin, her nails down his back, makes it harder to let her go—and it might not even be his choice to make. My Review

First let me say that Sugar Free is part 3 of Sawyer Bennett’s Sugar Bowl series.  You need to read them in order and believe me, you want too.  This storyline is ripped straight out of the headlines but with fictional plot twists.  The first two books ended in doozy cliffhangers but definitely made me want to know how it would all end.

Sela was seeking revenge for her violated past after she recognized by chance one of her attackers and TV.  She sets her plan in motion but it all turns on its head when she meets Beck North.  Love for Beck all but stopped her plot for vengeance and the problems never stopped.  Secrets and lies were choking them and they needed to figure something out to free themselves from all of their pasts….

You can’t really say a whole lot without spoiling the ending so I will just say this series is a worthwhile read.  Sawyer Bennet takes you on a ride and leaves you guessing how the characters will get free from all of their mess!  It is a page turner and a fast read.  The ending was satisfying and enjoyable to read.  Pick up the whole Sugar Bowl series today!

Book Release and Review: Burning Bond by Emma Hart

burning-bond-banner-nowavail

BurningBond_FINAL-ebooklgBrody Bond. The youngest homicide detective in Holly Woods. My best friend’s younger brother.

Off. Freaking. Limits.

I’ve told myself that for the past five years, and I’m going to keep telling myself that. Besides—I’m kind-of dating Jason. I don’t need Brody. I shouldn’t even want him, but want him, I do.

Not that I have time to think about it. With Noelle and Drake in Mexico for two weeks, I’m holding down the fort at Bond P.I. Or I was… until I stumbled upon a young woman who’d been attacked while walking my dog.

Jason thinks it’s the latest in a long line of gang-rapes happening across three states. Brody thinks I’ve added a target to my back. Getting to the bottom of it is at the top of my to-do list.

Two men, both determined to protect me.

I think I could love one. I’m almost certain I’m in love with the other.

Ride or die just got a whole lot realer.

Excerpt

“Danger! Danger! Danger!” Gio screams. “Danger! Neenaw neenaw neenaw!”

“Jesus Christ, Nonna!” Brody yells, rubbing his ear. “What the hell is that?”

Nonna stops. “He-a likes CSI.”

I blink. Gio watches CSI?

“You let your parrot watch murder TV shows?” I ask.

Si. He-a likes it.”

“Neenaw neenaw neenaw!” Gio flaps his wings.

“What is the neenaw about?” I say quickly when he stops.

“He-a is-a a police-a car,” Nonna says in the kind of dry tone that says I should know that.

Like it’s totally fucking normal for a parrot to pretend to be a police car.

“Nonna, you need a quieter pet,” Brody tells her. “That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard.”

She snorts. “He will-a learn-a a fire engine next!”

“I’m leaving.” I grab my purse and stand up.

Nonna grabs my arm, stands me up, and spins me toward the dining room—and away from the wannabe siren with a heartbeat. “No. You-a must-a help me.”

“Nonna,” I say gently, hoping to placate her and trying not to think about the fact that I dropped my purse on the floor. “They haven’t set a wedding date. This can wait until they’re home.”

She shakes her head. “No. She-a does-a not-a care about-a napkins!”

I don’t blame her. I’m not gonna lie. I don’t care about napkins, either. At least, not right now. There are far bigger things to worry about.

“Neenaw!” Gio cries through the house.

Brody slams the dining room door, cutting him off. “That goddamn bird, Nonna.”

Nonna clasps her hand to her chest. “Take-a it-a back!”

“I’m going to damn you if you don’t get on with this. I’m supposed to be on a lunch break, not a torture break,” he grinds out. He grabs the samples and, flicking through them halfheartedly, selects the most god-awful pattern I’ve ever seen. “Here. This is nice.”

“If you’re blind,” I say sarcastically, reaching across and taking them from him.

It’s even uglier at closer look. I don’t know what Nonna was drinking when she picked these, but it must have been Moonshine or something. I can’t even describe the vile mixing of lace and satin on that swatch.

“One of these three.” I pull them from the clip and put them on the table. “Trust me. I’m not being responsible for Noelle having to wipe her mouth with a napkin that looks like it lost a fight with a paper shredder and a glue stick.”

“What’s wrong with the one I picked?” Brody asks me indignantly.

I cast my gaze upward. “It looks like it lost a fight with a paper shredder and a glue stick,” I say slowly so he gets every word. “No. I’ll be held responsible, and it’s not happening.”

Nonna wrinkles her nose as she puts her glasses on and examines the swatches I’ve handed her. Honestly, if she brings them any closer to her face, she’ll be able to feel them. Then she selects a fourth.

“I like-a this one.”

“No,” I say firmly. “One of these.” I hand her the best three.

Brody groans. “Why can’t she just use paper napkins?”

My Review

I have been patiently waiting for this book since the first Holly Woods Files book graced my shelf. Who will Bek be with Jason or Brody? The burning question that has been on the back burner for far too many books. Emma Hart delivered everything I wanted in this book. It was a delicate dance around two extremely hot men who any woman in their right mind would want. Some don’t enjoy love triangles…not me, friends. This is fiction and who doesn’t want to imagine being stuck between these two. Choice….choices and some pretty awesome choices at that for Ms. Bek.

Brody has all the characteristics we love about male leads and it doesn’t hurt that he is a Bond. He is brave, strong, caring, and is all about what Bek needs. He just wants her to be happy even at his own expense but when he decides to fight for her the sparks fly.

Jason, a top notch FBI agent, is romantic, kind and hotly possessive of Bek’s time and attention. He knows Brody is in love with her and isn’t afraid to go toe to toe with him for Bek’s affection. His only glitch is that he doesn’t live in our beloved Holly Wood Hills.

We have all watched Bek as Noelle’s fun loving, crazy pants best friend and when she steps up to run Bond’s PI business, you know we are going to be in for it. She gets involved in a complicated case that puts her life in danger. The boys rally to keep her safe.

Who does she choose….Jason or Brody….and do they solve the case….read this book but first read the other 5 in the series. This is hands down one of my favorite series out there!
